About us

Story of this website

In the spring 2013 it was three years of running Narativ website. We intended to create communicational platform for sympathizers of postmodern approaches in psychotherapy or other social practices and to spread this approaches in Czech Republic and Slovakia in professional and even semi-professional community. On the webpage has been space for blogs, our or ours colleagues profiles and news from postmodern field of social oriented practices. During those years we made regular meetings in our small group and discussed our activities related to the webpage. After some time we were not satisfied by that. We were so excited by all those discussion and dialogues that we wanted to invite other people to participate not just virtually. There came the idea of saloons called Meganarativ, that were advertised as regular “off-line meetings”. The reasons of creating our website in 2010 (our early years) are very nicely described in Pavel Nepustil article, which is still very up-to-date in many aspects .

Narativ has been coming through dynamic development last years. We expanded as a group and invited few other members from extended community of sympathizers. We have done few workshops with foreign lectors (such as Harlene Anderson, Jaakko Seikkula, Rocio Cháveste. John Shotter or Ann Rita Gjertzen and few others). We have joined International certificate program in collaborative practices and run our educational program called „Moznosti Dialogu“ (Possibilities of dialogue ). Narativ has become one our main professional focus out of the marginal activity and the virtual community has become strong communion of people connected by many professional and personal relationships. You can find more about us in text „about us“.

As we have expanded beyond the space of internet, the communicational function of our website became less important. The content of the web became more stable and we have used website mainly as a vehicle to communicate news form Czech and worldwide community of collaborative and dialogical practices or to publish blogs . The discussions and meetings migrated naturally beyond the space of the website hand in hand with rise of social networks and “off-line” Narativ meetings.

So when we decided to create new website, we did more static and informational website and use social networks and personal meeting for dialogue and discussions. It was important for us that visual form and content would represent our philosophical orientation. On the main page is crossroad symbolizing rhizomatic structure of our organization. The creation process of the website was done in democratic discussion of all Narativ members and came through many changes until the stabilization in a form you can see now.

On the main crossroad you can see many new activities of Narativ group. You can find invitations for Research groups, news from reflecting teams project, saloons Meganarativ, or invitation in our shop. There are information about our educational program "Moznosti Dialogu" or facilitation we offer for teams and organizations. We would like to highlight Collaborative network page. On this page you can find us in relation to many people, institutes or organizations worldwide. We are very happy, that we could be part of much wider relational and collaborative network than we are. There are many documents and articles (in Czech and English) movies and dialogues with lectors on our webpage.

We wish you very nice stay on Narativ page.
